Fields Academy encompasses the training components of the Fields Institute. Through this initiative, we support our education partners at all levels across Ontario with a suite of programs that includes opportunities for elementary and high school students to engage with mathematicians, teacher training to support excellence in elementary mathematics education in Ontario, graduate math training and postgraduate upskilling for industry.

Skip Shared Graduate Courses

Shared Graduate Courses

The Shared Graduate Courses program aims to amplify Canadian graduate-level mathematics by making more courses available to qualified students. Instructors are invited, with the approval of their Department Chairs, to submit their course proposals. Courses are selected through an Advisory Committee from existing classes offered at the Fields Institute’s Principal Sponsorship Universities. Program details and a full list of past courses can be found on our website.

Registration for Fall 2024 courses is now open.
Winter 2025 enrolment begins November 1, 2024.

Elementary Educator Program

The Elementary Math Educator Program is designed to help elementary teachers and teacher candidates boost their math skills. Program resources are developed by an Ontario-certified teacher with a Ph.D in Mathematics Education, and in collaboration with math researchers and educators from across Canada.

To register for a course choose "Open for Enrolment" in the "Course Categories" block below and select the course you'd like to enrol in.

Skip Cybersecurity

Cybersecurity

Our cybersecurity training program serves to strengthen the bridge between academia and industry. It integrates the existing knowledge of our participants, who come to the program with advanced quantitative backgrounds, with the skills necessary to excel in advanced roles in cybersecurity. Core concepts covered include: cryptography, offensive security and applications of AI and machine learning in information security. Practical, hands-on experience is gained through a capstone project working a real industrial problem.
